Acupuncture is originally a Chinese practice of inserting fine needles through the skin into specific points outlined in Chinese Medical theory. These specific points are arranged along special lines in the body called meridian lines. Meridians are energetic routes that are vital from health and well-being. If there is a block in that flow of energy along those pathways a health problem may manifest. Needles are then placed in those acupuncture points along those specific meridians that correspond to the health problem or symptom with the goal being to free up that energy or “Qi” flow through those points and pathways to restore health or alleviate the symptom.
Acupuncture may be used for all types of conditions and health issues. AcuGraph Digital Meridian Analysis
Dr. Hopp utilizes the AcuGraph Digital Meridian Imaging system as part of an integrated approach to her acupuncture treatments. In addition to using traditional points and patterns in treatment of a patient’s condition, she also utilizes the AcuGraph. Acugraph is a modern specific tool used to measure a patient’s own energetic status of each individual meridian. This graph is then used to monitor the patient’s progress and track their energetic status and determine the best treatment points to use for each individual’s treatment and condition.
What are Acupuncture Meridians?
Acupuncture meridians are invisible energy pathways in your body that have been used therapeutically for over 5000 years. These meridians conduct life-force energy or Qi (pronounced chi “chee”) in and around all parts of your body. Blockage or interference in these meridian pathways can result in energetic imbalances that may contribute to negative health conditions. The primary goal of acupuncture treatment is to restore the energetic balance or Qi energy flow to these meridians, thus allowing the body to function normally and return to health naturally.
